Owning a big beautiful house is a common dream shared by many but there may come a time when its too much home.Someitmes it can be painful to think about moving. There are, however, several situations that make downsizing an attractive idea. If your home has started to feel too big, or it costs too much to upkeep, or it's just not your thing anymore...it might be time to think about a change. The big question about downsizing is: when should you do it? But the VERY Big question is can it be done? Our team supported W and D with the choice they have made. W was retired but not enjoying being retired to the fullest as D was still working. Not only was D stressed out about not being able to support the retired lifestyle of W, D was also very much stressed out with that early morning drive into downtown T .O. It’s okay for the right time to be “whenever you feel ready,” but that doesn’t mean the practical reasons about downsizing can be handled. The practicality needs to be addressed. Can you make it happen? It takes thought. And it takes a team approach. Transitioning is fraught with challenges. W and D were awesome. Forthright, transparent and committed. The team on our side to make this happen included our Operations Manager Rick, our Stagers, Mortgage partners and legal counsel. They had the knowledge and the expertise and the abiltiy to communicate the ideas, the needs, the wants, the financing and legal planning required to support W and D in better decision making about the buy/first strategy. Our team also included our Canadian network of Realtors- as the process required us to reach out with the Buying criteria to our Realtor network thousands of miles away. If we could not come lo terms with the buying end thousands of miles away...nothing at this end could happen. Defining and investigating the "can W and D get what they would like to get" from the downsizing strategy was paramount. The Internet search that W and D had tried to utilize for their Buying end was frustrating- but our hands on network using W and D's exact criteria worked perfectly. With plan firmly in place...we put together the touch up's and fine tuning of their house to get their downsizing plans in motion. 2 months later- D's retired, Downsized home SOLD, new digs BOUGHT in Maritimes right on the Ocean! New Journey begins. Smiles all around. And best of all...we can make another contribution to Food4Kids. Because no kid shoud go home from school hungry. GO SERVE BIG
